Yandex says gets 12,000 applications to test robotaxi in Moscow

MOSCOW, Jun 8 (PRIME) -- Internet company Yandex has received some 12,000 applications to test a self-driving taxi in Moscow, and the first several hundreds of volunteers already used the service, Andrei Karmatsky, head of Yandex’s robotaxi service, told PRIME on Thursday.

“We launched the robotaxi in Moscow’s district of Yasenevo and gave access to the first users who applied,” Karmatsky said.

“We will add more users, expand the list and test, look at their feedback. We have a lot to study and improve.”

Yandex will test the robotaxi in Yasenevo for several months to decide where to expand the service.
